Ball Corporation Director, Metal Procurement (NCA Suppliers) in Westminster, Colorado

Primary Purpose of this Position:

The Director, Metal Procurement (NCA Suppliers) will oversee the entire Ball Way of Procurement process for aluminum (coil) purchases from NCA, EMEA or SA/China/Middle East suppliers, from strategy development to execution. They set goals, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with regional counterparts for optimal strategy implementation. They have a large impact on Ball's P&L. Contract negotiations will regularly be >$1B in spend.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Leadthe full Ball Way of Procurement lifecycle process for the metal category including gathering, analyzing, and reporting on key market intelligence, developing a long-term, multi-year category strategy and development and evaluation of go to market strategies.

  • Leveragemultiple sources of market intelligence and data to make data-informed decisions.

  • Negotiatelarge, complex regional supply agreements covering financial, quality, service, sustainability, innovation and delivery targets.

  • Responsible for contract adherence and management both short term and long term to manage inflation, contract disputes and quality issues.

  • Createand executeend-to-end supply chain strategies and plans for region and able to obtain agreement with executive leadership.

  • Developa comprehensive view of the balance between supply and demand and actively monitors market conditions on an ongoing basis in order to make informed decisions.

  • Has responsibility for the development and evaluation of go to market strategies for global categories and can achieve creative commercial outcomes through negotiation planning and successful execution by directing cross functional teams of stakeholders.

  • Able to work across business units and engage with Regional Category teams and leadership to facilitate positive outcomes for the organization.

  • Leadthe performance management process for regional suppliers, including regular business reviews.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Management Consulting. Masters Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering.

  • Minimum of 12 years experience progressively increasing responsibility in Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Management Consulting, or business-related operations in a global environment.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience aluminum sourcing and/or working in the aluminum industry itself.

  • Deep understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management principles and application.

  • Advanced financial analytical skills and experience in enhancing value through negotiations.

  • Strategic orientation, inquisitive, comfortable with ambiguity, and self-motivated to identify trends and improvement opportunities aligned with business objectives and strategic plans.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to extract key themes, determine root causes, develop creative solutions, and craft concise messages.

  • Ability to build effective relationships, influence peers and key stakeholders, and buildconsensus.

  • Knowledge ofcurrent principles, practices, and methods pertaining to procurement .

  • Knowledge of analytics and market research methods.

  • Knowledge of advanced negotiation tactics.

  • Knowledge of aluminum flat rolled products manufacturing process aluminum flat rolled products cost drivers.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

  • Hiring Salary Range : $123,000 - 209,400. Salary to be determined by the applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. *

  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
