We are inviting you to join the Bing Ads Live Marketplace and Forensics team. We are a team of program managers/data scientists/data analysts with a clear “Live Site First” mindset who are passionate about monitoring and protecting the health of the Bing Ads marketplace ecosystem. We consume huge amounts of data spanning advertisers, publishers, system components and users to connect the dots across seemingly unrelated anomalies for identifying and resolving issues impacting the marketplace. We have round the clock monitoring hundreds of business and component metrics across several markets globally. We proactively analyze and investigate any marketplace anomaly using various data analysis techniques, drive issue resolution coordinating with various teams across time zones and perform the necessary follow ups for future prevention of issues. Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella has dedicated a paragraph about this culture in his “Hit Refresh” book (page 61). Our team can proudly claim as being pioneers in this culture.

You will enjoy and be very successful in this role if you have a service and business operations mindset, a passion for problem solving through data analyses, have been a developer and have a good understanding of how complex platforms work. Responsibilities

  • You will run data analyses on various marketplace health metrics by deriving insights into marketplace investigations.

  • You will be technically savvy to pull data from multiple data sources and connect the dots to draw insights from the data.

  • You will drive continuous improvements to our current monitoring and investigation toolkits.

  • You will drive mitigation to marketplace live site issues by collaborating with different engineering and business teams as needed to bring the issue to a closure.

  • You will drive extensive root cause analyses and follow-ups for preventing future issues.

  • You will be part of an on-call rotation (once every 8-10 weeks) where you will be the person on point to respond to issues as they arise.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications :

  • 2+ years working in web analytics, big data, data science, preferably with paid search technologies.

  • 2 years experience in programming languages such as C, C#, C++, ASP.NET, Javascript

  • 2 years experience in database querying using SQL

  • 2 years experience with data analytics tools like R, Python, Excel, Tableau, SAS.

Data Analytics IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $66,500 - CAD $128,300 per year.
