ABOUT THE ROLE
IOMAXIS has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Software Developer to support an exciting new project near Quantico, Virginia. This is a great opportunity for a strong engineer with leadership skills!
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You will work with a team of developers and researchers in an agile development environment. You must be comfortable with learning new technologies and be familiar with the software release process.You will provide top-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis. The selected candidate shall design architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
You will identify, assess, and present options for meeting the functional and technical requirements, including hardware and software updates or upgrades. This position shall also formulate and define specifications for operating system applications or shall modify and maintain existing applications. You will create detailed design specifications for use by staff members and interact with project management to plan project schedules and technical direction. This position shall be responsible for developing system design diagrams, as well as program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, and/or Network Administration from an accredited university/college.
- Active Top Secret Clearance
Skills / Capabilities:
- Must have recent work experience as a senior-level or technical lead in a related position on a major program, project, or activity. A minimum of five (5) years recent experience in the direct performance of a major program, project, or activity relating to computer software development at the user and kernel level, computer programming, and /or computer digital forensics.
An eagerness and aptitude for learning new tools, techniques, concepts and languages
Strong understanding of general-purpose coding languages and logic
Practical experience in debugging, source code control (GIT), and writing tests
Ability to write programs that interact with one another
Experience in setting up code to support CI/CD (continuous deployment/continuous integration)
Flexibility to collaborate with other developers on projects
Understanding of software engineering principles such as design, unit testing, continuous integration, and deployment
Experience or interest in learning Cyber Security
