Ford’s software engineers will develop the next-generation technologies that change how our vehicles are designed, built and connect on information exchanges. Our products handle information at large scale. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information exchange, data pipelines, distributed computing, large-scale system design, UI design and cloud; the list goes on and is growing every day.

In this role, you are going to work on real world problems on a global scale, own the systems end-to-end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts how customers around the world use our software-defined vehicles. You will be expected work with like-minded individuals to develop a high-availability system that provides interfaces, APIs and rule sets for multiple teams to interact with to design vehicle APIs. The system intends to provide immediate feedback on feasibility, potential heat maps and guardrails.

You will design, build, and maintain Modeling tools for use by the vehicle architecture team in Power and Performance domain, deliver a standardized framework for multiple electronic control unit (ECU) to communicate and function in an agile environment. You will collaborate with ECU owners and suppliers to resolve issues, implement methodologies and enable fast-paced delivery.

  • Own the design, and contribute towwards development of tools and technologies required for vehicle architecture enabling.

  • Evaluate benchmarking tools for modeling in the industry

  • Develop and maintain tools and environment for managing delivery in a fast-paced agile environment, aligned to vehicle program milestones

  • Develop scripts to automate the building of solutions and establish continuous delivery mechanisms for all vehicle programs.

  • Evaluate technologies and methods for integration for multiple ECU platforms.

  • Enable software development, automated tests development and regression suites.

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.

  • 4+ years of experience testing and launching software products.

  • 4+ years of experience s in Python, C++ or similar scripting language.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.

  • Experience with DevOps technologies and familiarity with implementing Continuous Delivery models.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience with software design and architecture especially in the automotive domain

  • Experience building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems/networks, or with compute technologies or automotive architecture.

  • Experience working in Agile environments and working across disciplines and teams.

  • Familiarity with automotive ECUs, control systems, and communication protocols.
