IOMAXIS IT Helpdesk Administrator in Lorton, Virginia
IOMAXIS has an opening for an IT Helpdesk Administrator to support operations in a full-time role at our facilities in Lorton, VA. This is a hands-on position responsible for the Corporate IT function at IOMAXIS. Provides technical support to internal and external staff personnel. Position will support PC, MAC and Linux workstations, servers, telecommunications and printer hardware and software. Performs desktop system maintenance/upgrades including all desktop OS patches, creates and maintains user accounts, manages user groups, and network permissions. Manages and administers all printers, copiers and print servers. Responsible for all desktop software and hardware inventory, compliance and audits including printers, copiers, and scanners. Monitors and maintains integrity of established IT security policies, practices, and procedures. Develops and documents standardized user (internal customer) processes and procedures and "how to" documentation. Develops, maintains and provides key performance indicator metrics reports for all IT service requests. Supports critical systems after hours, nights and weekends as needed. Responds to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
Successful candidate will:
Provide Tier 2 level technical support for ITs function providing optimum service to internal and external customers with minimal interruptions in PC and Mac environment
Provide Tier 2 level support for all IT and communications/telco services including company provided and personal mobile devices
Communicate effectively with supervisor, subordinates, staff personnel and headquarters personnel
Assists with establishing and monitoring the procedures, guidelines, regulations, policies, directives, plans and instructions established for the IT infrastructure
Evaluate and report on new technologies to enhance capabilities
Maintain the network infrastructure, server infrastructure, and desktop/laptop computers at a level of functionality and security required by IOMAXIS policies and procedures
Ensure the proper backup and archival of corporate data IAW corporate data retention policy
Maintain equipment/data/software availability and disaster recovery; provide system administration, diagnostics, and repair of network equipment, firewalls, computers, printers, scanners, photocopiers, communications, televisions and ancillary equipment
Assist in planning and design of support systems; install, configure and test computers, printer, and other peripherals
Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot communication equipment supporting both wired and wireless networks
Assist with training on applications as necessary
Maintain and updatge current asset management database
Willing and able to work independently within a structured team environment
Other duties as assigned
Clearance: Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
Education: Associates degree or higher is desirable.Three years of significant experience in information and communication technology support. (Microsoft exchange, VOIP, Microsoft Active Directory, etc.)
Hands-on MAC/Microsoft/Linux experience
Hands-on Cisco network device administration experience
Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Operating Systems, MS Office Suites, Cisco switches, and related systems and network connectivity
Experience managing rule based firewalls and/or UTMs.
Experience with Apple environments desirable.
Experience with virtual machine environments such as VMWare.
Experience with Linux operating environments
Experience managing enterprise Anti-Malware deployments
Experience with VoIP systems (Cisco Call Manager, Asterisk, etc.)
Experience in Windows PowerShell for use in administration automation and monitoring preferred
Experience with inside/outside plant network cable installation and management
Must be able to lift 80 pounds of equipment or materials
Ability to obtain a US government security clearance
