Job Title: Environmental Coordinator

Location: Warsaw, Sofia or Dublin (office based)

The Role:

Work with & support ICON ESG members and other business stakeholders in order to deliver all aspect of the ICON Environmental management plan and all environmental initiatives across key business impact areas. It will support the creation and promotion of ICON’s EMP activities and tools aimed at transforming the industry to achieve sustainability & environmental improvements to ICON, our customers, our employees and our communities.

The role will provide administrative support for activities intended to provide the business with the tools and guidance they require drive excellence and care to the communities in which ICON operates. This role will involve engaging with internal and other stakeholders on ICON ESG environmental activities, conducting research, delivering on initiatives to support our business and clients.

This role will specialize in the topics of energy usage, energy efficiency, waste generation, carbon emissions and climate action.

  • Coordinate and administrate business transformation activities (workshops, meetings, projects etc.) in line with ICON Environmental Management Plan (EMP) long term strategy and annual operating plan and in line with ICON’s Ethical Code of conduct and Environmental Management Policy.

  • Supervise the Employee Engagement activities on environmental sustainability and develop internal relationships to expand the Green Champion Network.

  • Support management with the preparation and delivery of environmental reporting, including annual company emissions reporting, carbon trust audits and company disclosures with CDP, EcoVadis and others.

  • Develop and maintain positive, strong working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders via phone, email and meetings, always practicing good teamwork in support of day-to-day operating requirements.

  • Identify, propose and deliver on building efficiency projects to drive energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction, ensuring projects results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost. Identify key internal SME’s to support in the delivery of projects.

  • Identify and manage grant applications across multiple geographical locations

  • Conduct desktop research, analyse findings, tracking industry policy positions, provide updates and keep up to date on topics of expertise and act as the point of reference for them within ICON ESG team and contribute to effective ways of storing and sharing the findings across the ICON ESG team, ICON Corporate management and beyond

  • Input into company strategies and workshops on environmental sustainability

  • Be prepared to travel where a project requires

  • Project management; driving where required and delivering project outputs across multiple projects. Tracking project outcomes, pro-actively identifying challenges and impacts for key decision making

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree

  • 2-3 years’ experience in environmental management, energy engineering or in a similar role

  • Strong research and analytical skills and data-driven thinking with very good attention to detail

  • Root cause analysis skills and creative thinking on problem solving

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and risk management on project delivery

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable by phone, email and face to face

  • Competent use of standard Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, juggling multiple projects and multi-tasking in a busy and ambitious team
