Philips Cost Accountant in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Accountant – Colorado Springs, CO.

The accountant will drive and grow business value, will help setting and achieving financial and strategic targets and will participate in our Finance Business Group to ensure decision making.

Your role:

  • Accountable for reliability, timeliness and accuracy of the standard deliverables defined in the scope.

  • Ensures quality, accuracy and integrity of information stored in our systems, enabling a single source of truth. The role is critical to assure we can support transformation projects as well as company's financial results across 5 locations.

  • Support inventory reporting, cycle counts, analysis, and variance to address root cause and process improvement. Analyze Inventory and Work Orders activity to ensure accuracy and explain major variances.

  • Conduct Excess and Obsolescence Analysis as well as other inventory reserves review to determine any potential adjustment.

  • Support the annual overhead rates and cost allocations to be used in the standard cost calculation.

  • Track and evaluate standard cost analysis through absorption reviews and reporting.

  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors using Root Cause Analysis.

  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures/practices to determine appropriate action, while building productive internal/external working relationships.

  • Prepare and book journal entries as needed and ensure month end deadlines are consistently met.

  • Prepare reports on weekly metrics to track activity on absorption, labor hours, scrap, PPV as well as month end reports.

  • Assist with Ad-Hoc analysis and special projects as required and assist SOX and external auditors with information gathering during quarterly and annual audits.

You're the right fit if:

  • 3 years of progressive working experience and roles in e.g. Finance, FP&A, financial control, management reporting and analysis, preferably within an international environment.

  • Excel proficient to develop forward looking analysis.

  • SAP knowledge preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Finance and/or Accounting orientated study.

  • Excellent communication skills and team spirit, with a trust but verify attitude.

  • Possesses forward-looking ad-hoc analysis to drive improvement.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000, annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
