altafiber Network Sales Engineer II in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position : Network Sales Engineer II

Location : Cincinnati, OH

Job Purpose

This position reports directly to the Director of Solutions Development. This position is considered a critical talent with superior knowledge (compared to other Network Sales Engineers). This position is responsible for providing pre-sale and post-sale design and technical support, assist in the development of other Network Sales Engineers, and contributor to product development and process improvement.

Essential Functions

Pre-Sales Opportunity Assessment, Solution Development and Design for Complex CB Network Services, Presentation of Solution to Customer, and Pre/Post-Sales Technical Support (60%)

  • Assist Network Specialists in pre-qualifying network opportunities

  • Lead customer technical discovery process to determine what alternatives would best meet customer objectives and be technically feasible for Cincinnati Bell to deliver a complex profitable solution

  • Identify and develop solution alternatives and be responsible to qualify solution feasibility with internal Cincinnati Bell resources (engineering, product house, operations, BMO, etc.) for complex network solutions

  • Create network diagrams, assist in proposal generation, and be a key resource in solution presentation to the customer

  • Serve as an escalation point for pre-sales technical questions/issues

  • Participation in the hand-off of complex solutions to BMO

  • Act as a lead for significant customers trouble/network issues

  • Responsible for coordinating/delivery of RFO

  • Ability to understand and design integrated network solutions

  • Ability to engage resources from CBTS to deliver end-to-end solutions

  • Participate in pricing/cost analysis for solutions

  • Regular involvement with the Product House, Engineering, and BMO for input to product development, cost reductions, implementation issues, and process design and improvement

Technical Sales Leadership and Personnel Development (40%)

  • Escalation point for the most critical solutions and the most complex designs

  • Leadership in assisting in the education and development of both the Network Sales Engineers and Network Specialists

  • Hold regular meetings to review ICB designs and their feasibility

Education

  • A Master's Degree or equivalent

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses

  • Network Certification a plus (CCNA, CCDA)

Experience

  • Over 10 years in complex network design

  • Strong sales engineering background experience in local and wide-area voice and data networks

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent analytical ability, good judgment, and the ability to work as a part of a team in a fast-paced, environment

  • Technical experience with CB network services, operations, support, and processes

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong technical skills for Telecom; voice, data, Internet, LAN, WAN, IP routing

  • Strong experience with customer telecommunication applications

  • Extensive experience with the design or engineering of highly complex products and services

  • Experience with a wide range of technologies and services

  • Knows processes to implement complex telecommunications products and services

  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Deep technical knowledge of interworking of all CBT/CBAD products

  • Experience with customer storage, security, server, and infrastructure scenarios

  • Deep sales experience in evaluating and presenting solutions to meet customer¿s need and requirements

  • Advise account teams and Sales Engineers on sales strategy
