We're proud to announce that Nexagen Networks has secured another long-term defense Contract and is currently seeking an RF Engineer) to join our team in Aberdeen, MD Location: Aberdeen, MD Clearance: (Not Required) Job Details: Job Description : As an RF Engineer Intern, you will work with the technical team responsible for integrating, and optimizing RF systems and components for various applications, including wireless communication networks, satellite communication, and radar systems. Tasks include ensuring efficient and reliable RF performance, troubleshooting issues, and staying up to date with emerging technologies in the RF field. Key Responsibilities: RF System Integration: Integration of RF systems and components, including antennas, transceivers, amplifiers, filters, and frequency synthesizers. RF Testing and Optimization: Conduct RF testing, measurements, and simulations to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Antenna: Integrate and optimize antenna systems, including antenna arrays, to meet specific performance criteria such as gain, directivity, and impedance matching. Spectrum Analysis: Analyze and interpret RF spectrum data to identify and mitigate interference issues and improve network performance. Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve RF-related issues and network performance problems. Provide technical support for RF-related problems. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of RF system designs, test procedures, and results. Emerging Technologies: Stay informed about the latest advancements in RF technology and contribute to the adoption of new technologies to enhance system performance. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to integrate RF systems into larger projects. Qualifications: College Intern pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics. Understanding in RF design software and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, ADS, CST Microwave Studio). Understanding of RF principles, microwave theory, and electromagnetic theory. Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Knowledge of RF measurement techniques and calibration procedures. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to RF communication (e.g., 5G, Wi-Fi, cellular networks). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with RFIC (Radio-Frequency Integrated Circuit) design. Knowledge of software-defined radio (SDR) technology. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C/C++ for RF applications. Experience with RF PCB layout and design. Familiarity with RF propagation modeling and prediction tools.
